Parts Associate - Multiple Locations

Location: Milwaukee or De Pere, WI

Summary of Position

Front line customer support in a fast paced, multitasking environment for a hard working organized and focused individual. Daily responsibilities primarily consist of parts support for our retail and internal clients, managing inventory and controlling expenses.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Works for the customer, answering their calls in a professional manner, assisting them to locate the parts needed for their repair
  • Maintain customer goodwill by greeting and acknowledge all customers he/she comes in contact with.
  • Department is kept in a neat and orderly fashion for safe and professional appearance with routine housekeeping
  • Provide Service Department with necessary parts
  • Maintains the retail sales floor and displays to meet or exceed the dealership standards
  • When working the parts counter, follows prescribed cash, credit and check processing procedures of the dealership. Processes cores, warranties and new return merchandise as required at a point of sale
  • Attends training as prescribed by management to maintain proficiency in his/her job description
  • Uses Dealership equipment and resources safely and proficiently
  • Follow up on shortages and expedite solution
  • Knowledgeable in merchandising
  • Receiving shipments accurately and entering items received into inventory

Educations, Skills, and/or Experience Requirements

A successful candidate would have three years or more experience in a service/repair parts environment. This could include construction equipment, automotive, truck or agricultural industry experience. Knowledge or experience in inventory and cost control would also be desired.

Position Details and Responsibilities

The ideal candidate should possess a working knowledge of construction/heavy equipment and understand how to build customer relationships in an assigned territory. Outside sales experience is a plus.

  • Represent Parts and Service sales in a defined territory

Summary of Position

As a Service Technician / Diesel Mechanic you will troubleshoot, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydrostatic, hydraulic and powertrain systems on heavy construction equipment and attachments in a safe and timely manner. Maintain technical and product knowledge of equipment sold within dealerships area of responsibility. Formal and on the job training to develop into a senior technician or promote to the next position, Field Service Tech.

Educations, Skills, and/or Experience Requirements

Successful candidates will have a two-year technical degree as a Diesel Technician and/or at least 2 years of mechanical experience. We are looking for team members that have strong mechanical and diagnostic skills, a good working knowledge of operations and mechanical functions of construction equipment, basic computer skills, and excellent communication skills. Welding/fabrication as well as previous John Deere experience would be a plus. Applicants would be required own their own tools Opportunity to earn tool Credit. Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Summary of Position

Prospecting, developing sales and delivering Compact Construction Equipment including Skid Steers, Compact Track Loaders, Mini-Excavators, and Compact Wheel Loaders.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for promotion, selling, and renting John Deere Compact Construction Equipment, Bandit Chippers and Stump Grinders, Merlo Telehandlers, GiANT Mini Loaders, Bergmann Dumpers, Felling Trailers, Thunder Creek Fuel Trailers, and a variety of attachments and hand tools.
  • Used equipment sales.
  • Communicates with current prospects and new prospects for sales; plan sales calls and make sales presentations.
  • Quotes and negotiates prices and credit terms, preparing contracts and monitoring accounts.
  • Maintains product knowledge and provides great customer service and technical assistance as needed.

Educations, Skills, and/or Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-year sales experience in construction equipment and/or agricultural equipment experience.
  • Knowledge of construction machine operation and application and ability to demonstrate key product features and benefits to customers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer relationship skills with ability to satisfactorily resolve customer concerns.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office and general computer skills.

Physical Requirements

In addition to being able to sit, stand, walk, read, talk, write and hear, to perform the essential functions of this job an individual must be able to do the following additional activities: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Able to crawl, climb, on or under heavy equipment. Walk over construction/excavation sites (irregular terrain). Stoop, bend, kneel and stand for extended periods of time. Able to operate a motor vehicle day and night. Will be asked to travel long distances with some nights out.
